Patrick Serex
Patrick Serex is founder, president and CEO of eXaNetworks. In 1995, Mr. Serex
founded FotoWire (later: Silverwire) in Switzerland, a company that invented
"e-photofinishing" and provided automated printing infrastructure to independent
photo labs. In 1999 he moved to California to establish FotoWire in the USA.
Hewlett Packard acquired Silverwire in 2006. In 1983, Mr. Serex founded
Image-In, a pioneer in photo editing software, and served as CEO for 12 years.
In 1994, Hyundai acquired the company. Mr. Serex holds an Electronic Engineering
degree from the Geneva Engineer College and attended Business & Administration
at the University of Geneva in Switzerland.
Michael Spindler
Michael H. Spindler served as President & Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Apple Computer Inc. from 1993 to 1996. Before Apple, Mr. Spindler was Marketing Manager for Intel Corporation Europe and held the same position with Digital Equipment Corporation Europe. Prior to Digital Equipment, he served in engineering positions for Schlumberger AG and Siemens AG in Europe. Mr. Spindler also served on the Board of Directors for Bertelsmann AG and International Advisory Board for Daimler-Chrysler AG, and was a member of the Board of Trustees for Libraries for the Future in New York City and the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. Mr. Spindler holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from RFH Cologne, Germany.
James Topinka
James Topinka is a partner in the San Francisco office of Winston & Strawn LLP
law firm. He has been a corporate securities lawyer for over 20 years with a
focus on the representation of companies in technology, manufacturing, retail
and financial services. His current practice emphasizes the financing as well as
the merger and acquisition of technology and financial service companies. He
actively represents established and emerging companies, as well as venture
capitalists and angel investors. Recent transactions include the merger of
a leading wireless technology developer and the hostile takeover of a leading
San Francisco financial institution. Mr. Topinka has taught at the Hastings
College of Law and Boalt School of Law of the University of California. He has
also lectured and written extensively in the areas of securities regulation and
mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Topinka serves on the board of directors of
several technology companies, a venture capital company focusing on emerging
companies and the Edgewood Center for Children and Families.
